BLECH and a week in the life results

Let me begin by saying - blech. I live in a pukey house. Sawyer started after a birthday party on Saturday night. Proceeded to barf 25 times in 6 hours. The ped advised us to go to the ER. So, at midnight, the 5 of us loaded up and headed to Inland Valley. (Where Harry James was born) They gave Sawyer some Zofran (after upchucking twice at the hospital) and he was good to go. The DR thought Sawyer also had an ear infection and strep. He's on an antibiotic but has no symptoms? Unfortunately, I have bigger fish to fry.

Last night at bedtime, Andy got sick too. Now, this morning Harrison and Campbell are both sick too. Luckily, the baby only seems mild and Sawyer is fine now. I've got everything crossed that *I* escape this grossness!

Here is my Week In the Life project. I'm 100% done and about 70% happy with how it turned out. It's only okay, but I'm really glad that I did this -- someday I'll be able to see all of the mundane activities we do day to day.

As I walked in today, Mrs. Colson, Campbell's teacher, had a funny story for me.

One of the little girls in Cam's class had come up to Mrs. Colson and told her that Campbell had called her (the little girl) a hobo. Mrs. Colson was a bit confused and amused, so she called Campbell up and asked if it was true.

Campbell denied the charge, saying that he had actually called the girl a homo. Mrs. Colson let me know that she had to hold back her laughter and then Campbell added "it's a prefix!"

We have a new addition!

I'm honestly not trying to draw anyone one in thinking we have a new pet, baby or anything like that. But, we do have something new and interesting at our house. If it's not a dog, a human off-spring or a pet rat, then what is it?

I'll tell you. It's a piano!

It's lovely, really. And it goes quite nicely in our front room. Almost like it's just meant to be. Although let's hope we never move to another smaller house because I don't know where it (the piano), or 3/4 of the other stuff is going to go! Cam is sticking to wanting guitar lessons.

Sawyer swears he's going to take lessons and learn how to play, though he does think he already knows how. Hmmm....I beg to differ.

What is weird is that that picture makes my wall look beige. It's not. It's really a medium GREEN. Odd.

Harrison, aside from the teething, is just wonderful to be around these days. He's super expressive and is trying to talk. He successfully makes sounds like Bye Bye (bah-bah) and uh-oh. It's incredibly adorable -- even more so when he makes his favorite sound of "WOW". Love that one.

He's becoming increasingly more aware of the world around him, he loves vehicles (naturally!) and pulling other babies hair. Going outside makes him wiggle with excitement and he watches the sky for the moon and airplanes/helicopters. LOVE IT.

In other, equally exciting news, the new VONS opens at the bottom of the hill TOMORROW. Write it on your calendar people, because I have!!!! For those of you not familiar with the layout of my land - this THE closest grocery shopping within 8 miles. And the 8 mile one is Trader Joes. So, this is big stuff. You can guarantee I'll be at the grand opening. But, I guess you would have thought that anyway, right?

Sawyer has some really funny things about him. He says funny things and lately, one of the funniest things that he says is "pretty muchly". When you ask him a question, like..."are you tired?" The answer: "pretty muchly, no".

Anyway, I'm still following our lives in photos, words and momentos. I will say, however, that after a few days it's really become MUCH harder than I would have thought. I'm sure that Tuesday will look GOOD in the album, Wednesday good, Thursday okay, Friday fair, and well, you get the picture.

Our weekend was pretty much non-stop and I haven't updated since Thursday. Let's give you the tour.

{A week in the life} day 3

Today was EXCITING - depending on how you look at it. There was halloween decorations that went up, naps with friends, volunteering, essentials and feces. I could have done without the latter.

Day 2 of {A week in the life}

Here we are on the documentation process, feeling slightly dorky carrying my DSLR everywhere. Yet, I do it - and get the shot when I can. There are quite a few times, in case you're wondering when I do miss it. (Like today, trying to get a picture of the boys coming out of the gate after school. Some 5th grader thought I was taking a picture of him - and not to mention that he was totally blocking my shot! There is always tomorrow, I suppose...)

Luckily for me, today was full of average activities, yet wrought with emotion and hormones. It was 100* again today, plus Cam woke up too early (unfortunately this is a common theme, as of late), fell asleep after school and was the biggest grizzly bear there after. UGH.

Today was a volunteer day, and that was quite fulfilling as was the drive through dinner at Carl's Jr. (Hardee's for you midwesterners) for a music program fundraiser. (It was so much easier when Cam was in kinder and I could shield my kids from these. Now, they are all too aware and I'm forced to make the trip every.single.time.)

Now though, at 941 Calgon has taken me away as I sit and check out the days photos, write down our experiences and smell the wafting scent of Bath and Body Works LEAVES . YUM!
