Monday, Monday

Another Monday...normally I don't mind Mondays too much. I guess that is really only true in theory. I think we all wake up exhausted from the weekend, since we always have too much to do.

This past weekend, we had two mid day baseball games. I snuck in a pedicure right after. As soon as I walked in, it was time for the 3 big boys to go to the Storm game. (the Lake Elsinore Storm is a minor league baseball team for the Angels) Luckily, Andy had them all dressed and ready to go.

It seemed as though the baby had gotten a sunburn on his cheeks. Andy was burned, as usually and the boys were a bit rosy as well. But only Harrison's cheeks seemed red. He'd been kept in the shade and had on a hat and long sleeves but it seemed as though that was not enough. The next morning the color was all gone but a fever and a wee bit of fussiness was in it's place! (He's still got those symptoms today) So, I've taken away the guilt factor for the sun - I think that wasn't the culprit of the red cheeks. Whew!

Yesterday, we picked up groceries and Andy worked on Campbell's basketball hoop. We'd resisted getting a big one for a while since there was no where to put it in the backyard, and the front yard is dangerous for balls due to the sloping street we live on. Cam and I decided to throw caution to the wind and we bought a hoop for the front yard. I figured he was probably old enough to be able to keep up with one, relatively large, ball.

Unfortunately, Sawyer wasn't able to do song box at school on Friday. He was CRUSHED and cried for a long time about it. So, off to school he went today with note in hand. Hopefully, Ms. Susann lets him do it today. He's excited about the possibility, and I'm excited for him.

Still at it!

I thought that perhaps the baby had enough excitement in his life for a week. Nope, not so. This morning I discovered another tooth had popped through. So, now he has the two center teeth on the bottom! Woohoo for Harrison, boohoo for me. Why won't he slow down? Way down, as far as I'm concerned!

Sawyer is very excited for school today, which is a great day. He's first for picking jobs and he's going to pick song box. Translated: he gets to choose the song they sing today. He's been talking about it since Wednesday and this kid just melts me - I love it that he loves school and little tasks make him happy! LOVE it. After coffee this morning and song box today, he's going to be one happy little man!

Big things

It's amazing all of the things that have happened in the baby boy's life this week! Monday, a new itty bitty tooth poked through. On Tuesday, he rolled over for the first time. On Wednesday, he kept rolling. On Thursday he ate a fresh banana!

The banana is interesting. I put it in a product that has a mesh bag on one end and a handle on the other. The mesh bag doesn't allow any big chunks through, so the baby can mash the goodness with his strong gums. He gets the yummy goo but none of the choking hazard. Brilliant. He loved it! The tooth has gotten bigger every day this week. And, sharper. That will teach me to put my finger in his mouth to feeeeeeel it! He's not very good at showing it off, either. He likes to stick his tongue out and cover it up.

The rolling is amusing since, well, he dislikes strongly being on his belly. But, it's all good. At least he's semi mobile and amusing himself. I, of course, *hate* all of this advancement because it means the baby is getting bigger. He'll soon no longer be a baby and he'll be a KID. Kids are all fine and good, but there is nothing like a sweet and yummy baby!

Carrot massacre

I only wish i'd taken picture of the lunch episode Harrison had. It started out easy enough - a few good bites. Then, it all went downhill. He grabbed the spoon of pureed carrots and a giant blob hit his eye and cheek. The ate a couple more bites and hit the spoon. He dribbled some out of his mouth.

By the end, it was all over his face, chest, leg and hem of his shorts. He didn't even mind when I cleaned him up. Thank goodness!

The perfect weekend

folks, i think this is it - we've had the perfect weekend. there were a few details missing from making it sublime - but it was just perfect. First, we're having unseasonable warmth. Today it was up over 90*! Yesterday too! There were no baseball games yesterday and we had a garage sale yesterday and got rid of some stuff. We sat around and enjoyed each other.

The Pottery Barn outlet opened 10 minutes from here - whoa! Cam and I spent some time there and picked a few must haves. The emphasis is really on MUST!

Gini and Christie came up for the night - andy and I went out for a date. We had soup at Panera and saw the movie 21! The movie was fine - but it was just nice to be out. We woke up to yummy pancakes courtesy of Christie - we hung out more - went to the Pottery Barn again and finished with a quick trip to Stater Bros.

Love getting stuff done, love hanging out. what a great weekend!

actually write something?

I guess I missed a key element in blogging. that you're actually supposed to write. ha! Well. A few things have gone on - Iowa, Sawyer's fifth birthday, Harrison is 5 months, baseball, more baseball...laundry. We reorganized the toy room and we are having a yard sale on Saturday and NO I've not prepped at all!
